Vicinal Tides Descried

26th – 28th January 2013:

Attempting to make the visual utmost of what I see where I happen to be, which in this case was a weekend in Plymouth with an excursion to Cotehele Wood and the walk from the harbour there to Calstock. With some of these shots I particularly wanted to pick up on some parallels and reflections both in nature and between nature and the human impact. Such as the photograph of a leaf on some slate – I was drawn to the similarities in both colour and form. Some also help invoke the sense of nostalgia that was very fitting to my mood. Initially I had made many of these images B&W, but decided in the end I wanted them to have a bit more warmth.
