If you go down to the woods today…

24th January 2010:

I took some friends for a walk in Thetford Forest. It was a pretty gloomy day, so I wasn’t feeling particularly inspired, but was surprised when we got there. There was a slight mist, which made the forest quite eerie.

It was this eerie quality of the light which eventually got my imagination flowing. I then really liked the abstract forms that were appearing and how the light and mist was enhancing them.

The colours became quite an influence as well. The muted browns, oranges, greens and yellows made me think of the days when colour films had a stronger yellow balance. So this has been enhanced in these images.
